The "Old Farts Trophy" was created to have a friendly competition between the Suncoast Model Sailing Club and the Naples Model Sailing Club. The "brain trust" behind the "Old Farts" was Jack Ward (Suncoast) and Ole Kistler (Naples).***** The competition was started in December 2006 when the Suncoast traveled to Naples to sail 1 Meter Solings. The rules were not established and it is possible that because this is a bunch of "Old Farts" the rules of engagement may still be a little on the loose side (no pun intended). However the traveling trophy pictured above was won by Naples in a 10 to 9 victory.

In January 2007 Suncoast hosted Naples and Suncoast emerged as victors. January 2008 the contest was hosted by Naples in a rolling blowing regatta, Suncoast once again "won" the Old Farts Trophy. February 2008 Naples returned to Suncoast however Suncoast again prevailed.
